Consultant Urologist
FRACS Urology
Mr Paul Kearns is a consultant Urologist at University Hospital Geelong (Barwon Health), St John of God Hospital (Geelong) and Epworth Hospital (Geelong).
Mr Kearns graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at The University of Melbourne in 1994, completing his residency at St Vincent’s Hospital (Melbourne). Postgraduate training in Urology was then completed in Melbourne, Adelaide and Nottingham (UK).
Mr Kearns was awarded FRACS (Urology) in 2004 and continues with Professional Development through the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. He is interested in the education and development of medical students, assisting with tutorials for The University of Melbourne and Deakin University.
Mr Kearns specialises in minimally invasive (Robotic and Laparoscopic) surgery of the prostate and kidney. These procedure utilise a ‘keyhole’ surgical approach rather than one large open incision. The advantages of this technique include less pain, less blood loss, quicker recovery time and a superior cosmetic appearance.
